Since summer 2010, Arianne Phosphate has been using a GHG accounting system. It is part of Management’s commitment to reduce the Company’s environmental footprint. By measuring the GHG emissions produced by each of the Company’s exploration projects, we will step up our sustainable development and environmental responsibility initiatives. The GHG inventory will allow Arianne Phosphate to identify projects that are problematic in terms of GHG emissions and implement appropriate measures to reduce or offset them.

Accounting for the GHG emissions produced by mineral exploration activities is innovative. Most life cycle analyses start with extraction and leave out the exploration phase, which is not without impact and is part of the product life cycle.

Arianne Phosphate has been committed to having a carbon-neutral exploration phase. This exploration phase was completed after obtaining the ministerial decree issued by the Government of Quebec in December 2015. The Company's GHG emissions for exploration phase in tonnes of CO2 equivalent amount to a total of 4,259 tonnes.
