A key element for all life forms
Phosphorus is an atom found in the chemical composition of DNA, RNA, ATP and also the phospholipids that form all cell membranes. This components play an important role in converting the energy.
Phosphorus is also essential to:
- the metabolism of sugar;
- energy storage transfer;
- cell division and elargement;
- transfer of genetic information.
In essence, phosphorus is central to life and has no substitute to it.
Use of phosphorus
87% of the product derived from the processing of phosphate rock (apatite) is used in the production of fertilzers. Phosphorus is one of the 3 components alongside nitrogen (N) and potasssium (K). There are no substitute for it.
7% of the product resulting from processing phosphate rock (apatite) is intented for the production of animal food supplements.
